Village Fine Art Gallery, Artist Greg Sharpe

Greg Sharpe (1923-2004) Greg was a resident of Fountain City in Knoxville, Tennessee, and has always been a highly regarded and widely collected watercolor artist. He was the recipient of many awards, including "Best of Show" in the semi-annual competition sponsored by the prestigious Fountain City Art Guild. He liked to paint scenes from everyday life that catch his eye. His works ranged from farmland to cityscape, from mountains to beaches, and from summer flowers to Christmas scenes. His images "strike a chord" in everyone's life, ensuring his continued popularity. While Greg was a "doodler" and was always interested in art, serious study as an artist began just as he was retiring from his banking career with the former Park National Bank. In addition to being an officer in the Fountain City Art Guild, Greg was a past member of the Tennessee Artists' Association and former board member of the Arts Council of Greater Knoxville.
