Lanelle Holley
Lanelle's serious interest in drawing and painting began in high school.
Majoring in art through school, and continuing education at the Memphis Art
Academy, she also studied with Ted Burnett in Knoxville, Jewell Snoddy in
Memphis, and at workshops with Ron Kirkham and Terry Chandler.
Often drawn to subjects that are not quite the norm, Lanelle likes to paint
people, animals, and/or buildings. She also loves to paint gorgeous flowers and
says, "They are so receptive to being painted."
Lanelle has worked in almost all mediums and uses each one for its individual
effects and quality.
Although she has been painting for nearly 30 years, she says she still feels
that she is a beginner. "There is so much more I want to learn! Something new
and spontaneous happens with each painting, making the process very exciting,"
she says.
She is a member and former president of the Fountain City Art Guild, co-founder
and former president of the Fountain City Art Center, and a member of the
Tennessee Artists Association. Her work is in collections from Hawaii to North
Carolina; and corporate commissions include paintings in all mediums and brochures and signs of various sizes.
Village Fine Art is fortunate to be associated with one of Tennessee's finest
artists.
