Artist, Phil Julian    Phil Julian

Sunflower petals dancing in the fading sunlight . . . women from the writings of Ernest Hemingway . . . a vase of tulips on the kitchen table . . . faces from day to day encounters . . . and threads of the imagination.

These are a few of the copious inspirations of the artist who brings art to life and life to art--Phil Julian. Though Phil's many journeys have carried him across the face of this country, his deep roots remain attached to his rich heritage of East Tennessee. Phil is able to capture the beauty of his homeland and captivate eyes with his varied subjects.

His education from Harris School of Art in Nashville taught him styles of creating art but did not restrict him. Beneath the realistic hand of Phil Julian is an underlying, rather distinctive, abstract artist who presents himself as Ray Boeing. Ray is Phil: Phil is Ray, yet they each have their own voice on the canvas. Truly unique, each artist expresses himself through thought-provoking paintings, detailed drawings, emotional sculptures, and a fresh new genre of art designed through computer technology.

Versatile, yet profoundly talented in each area, intertwined are Phil and Ray--one man that has broken the bonds of traditional art.
