Sylvia Blankenship Williams Sylvia dreamed of becoming an artist from the time she first received recognition for her work in the third grade. She received encouragement from teachers, family, and friends throughout her school years. She then began longing to see Paris and to absorb some of the rich cultural heritage of Europe. She got her wish and spent her junior year of college in Paris -- graduating from Mary Baldwin College in 1974 with a B.A. in French. Sylvia taught French and English for several years before she and her husband, Charles, decided to devote full time to pursuing their artistic careers. Charles is well known for his pen and ink drawings and graphic illustrations. Sylvia always delights us with bright colors and the unexpected -- underscoring her versatility as an artist. To stroll through one of Sylvia's beautiful and colorful gardens is a one-of-a-kind experience. Her portrait and still life paintings are also very popular, and she is available for commission projects. Village Fine Art Gallery is sparkling with a wonderful collection of Sylvia's paintings.
